Nanputuo Temple Founded in Tang Dynasty, this famous Minnan Buddhist temple sits against Wulao Mountain and faces the ocean. Grand halls, fragrant incense and serene lotus ponds create a peaceful spiritual atmosphere. The temple is dedicated to Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy. Visitors can admire fine stone carvings and taste famous temple vegetarian pastries.

Huandao Coastal Road stretches along Xiamen’s shoreline. Soft sandy beaches, palm trees and rolling blue sea unfold along the route. You may walk or rent a bicycle to glide beside the waves, and wait for the stunning golden sunset over the Taiwan Strait.

Jimei Xuecun (Jimei Village) Created by the great overseas Chinese philanthropist Chen Jiageng, this academic cluster features iconic Jiageng-style buildings.
